Upon crossing the border from Costa Rica into Nicaragua, one is presented with a breathtaking view of the majestic Maderas and Concepcion Volcanoes. These volcanoes are situated within one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world, Lake Nicaragua.

Granada, a city located on the shores of Lake Nicaragua, holds the distinction of being the oldest European-founded city in Central America. Established in 1524, it was named after the renowned city of Granada in Spain. Visitors to Granada are treated to a unique experience as they embark on a horse-drawn carriage ride through the city’s charming streets. The city boasts an array of colonial churches, narrow streets, and grand homes adorned with beautiful indoor patios, tiled roofs, and vibrant colonial colors. The tour culminates at the picturesque lakefront, offering a serene and captivating view.

You will be picked up by boats and shown the remarkable islands of the lakes formed by the eruption of the Mombacho Volcano.

After that, you will visit Masaya Volcano, one of Nicaragua’s most active volcanoes. It is considered the first national park in the country and the only volcano in the western hemisphere where you can drive to the top of the crater. After the visit, we will enjoy a delicious Nicaraguan lunch.

The next destination is Masaya, renowned as the birthplace of Nicaraguan folklore and the epicenter of local handicrafts. Its principal market, situated adjacent to the central bus station, is meticulously organized into sections showcasing the finest products, including handwoven hammocks, intricately embroidered blouses, and exquisite wood carvings.

Upon returning to your hotel, a breathtaking sunset awaits you at an exceptional viewpoint overlooking Managua Lake and Granada Lake.

Tour duration: Full day. We commence at 5:00 a.m. and conclude approximately at 7:00 p.m., ensuring your comfortable return to the hotel.
